How we are paid

Broker, not lender

Channel Finance Group Limited is a credit broker and not a lender. We arrange finance; we do not provide it.

Three ways we are paid

We are paid in one or more of three ways, depending on the work.

• A commission paid by the lender when a facility completes. The amount varies by lender, by product and by the size and type of the facility, and is usually a percentage of the amount advanced. It is paid by the lender out of its own resources.
• A fee paid by you. On more complex work, and in particular on corporate advisory, acquisition and structuring mandates, we charge for the advice itself. This may be a retainer, a fee on completion, or both. Any fee is agreed with you in writing before we start and is set out in our terms of business.
• A share of either of the above with an introducer, where you came to us through an accountant, solicitor or other professional. Where that applies we will tell you.

Confirmed before you commit

We will confirm in writing, before you are asked to commit to anything, the amount of commission we expect to receive, who is paying it, and the amount and basis of any fee payable by you. If the figure changes before completion we will tell you.

Our recommendation is based on which lender and which structure best meets your requirements. The commission payable to us does not determine the advice we give, and we are happy to discuss how we are paid at any stage.
